Tunisia
is a popular holiday destination all year round; it is located in Northern Africa,

El Kantanou is a popular beach resort complete with golden sands, blue seas,
marina and 18 hole golf course. There are many hotels lining the sea front for
that perfect “sea view” and an abundance of water activities to
try such as water-skiing and surfing, there is also horse riding, cafes, restaurants
and many shops to browse around. Another popular resort in Tunisia is Sousse.
It has many museums of local heritage and monuments to glare at and a wide variety
of shops selling locally produced items of silver jewellery and hand crafted
quality goods produced by the Souks. There is a chance to bargain with them
as often prices on goods are somewhat overpriced, it is said that you should
aim to cut the price in half then try to haggle a reasonable price with the
seller. Handcrafted goods include hand carved wooden bowels and vases are to
name but a few items on sale.
Tunisia does have
more to offer than just beaches. Located in Tunis there are little cobbled streets
steeped in quaint old French style buildings with sidewalk cafes to sit and
have coffee and watch the world go by, there is also many colonial buildings
to visit and cathedrals including the Cathedral of St Vincent de Paul and museum
The bardo Museum of most certainly worth a visit.
There is opportunity to get your hiking boots on and trek through the Forest
of Kroumirie Mountains situated around Ain Draham, or try the new craze sport
dune skiing in the deserts or take a camel ride. For the more fitness fanatics
there is tennis, hunting and volleyball to keep you occupied.
Eating out in Tunisia
will have your taste buds tingling with a mixture of herbs and spices in their
traditionally cooked dishes, and for the weight watcher it is perfect as the
majority of the dishes cooked are healthy ones, consisting of fresh grilled
sea food and a wide variety of salads, washed down with some of the finest wine
in the world produced locally in the vineyards in Tunisia.
