London offers
free film festival
In what has been
described as "London's biggest filmic free-for-all" the Portobello
Film Festival offers a top day out for all.
Running from August
6-22, the independent festival screens new features, shorts, cult movies and
lots more at a host of locations around the Notting Hill Portobello area.
Film Screenings
are set up for big audiences, with around 15,000 people attending each year
and the whole thing is free.
In addition there
is a big emphasis on music at the event that first began in 1996.
Both Guy Ritchie
and Shane Meadows are filmmakers who made their mark at the event.
