Celebrate Tobago's
past at Heritage event
Tobago offers a
view into its past at this year's Heritage Festival, running from July 9-31.
This annual event
brings the area into a show of colour, top food and music as islanders relive
their history.
Culture in Tobago
has been shaped by the many people living on the island and the festival is
hoped to be a celebration of this crossed culture, including goat races and
an 'Ole Time' carnival.
Each village celebrates
the event and offers song, drama, traditions and music, with many activities
occurring at night.
Food influenced
by the British, Africans and French can be sampled in some areas, whilst at
others different dances are put on display.
All members of
the family are welcome at the event, which also allows young children to show
off their talents at the junior heritage section.
