Eiffel Tower
The Eiffel Tower one of Paris famous landmarks
is a staggering 300 metres high created by Gustave Eiffel is a magnificent sight
to see. The tower gives panoramic views of the city and be seen literally anywhere
in the city.
The structure of the tower is constantly under some kind of construction, making
it better and more enjoyable to experience. The tower can be climbed by lift
to several floors to take in different angles of the city. There are also walkways
for you to enjoy the view.
Looking up at the magnificent iron tower from the bottom would make your head
dizzy, however well worth a look.
The Tower has several million lights on it, which is beautiful when lit up at
night and can offer a different experience if in the lift on a dark night.
The queues for the lifts onto the tower can provide lengthy waits in the summer
months and the surrounding Park is always full of visitors.
The Eiffel Tower and surrounding area of park provides and excellent day out
especially in the summer months where the temperatures can reach scorching levels.
There are restaurants located in the tower one is called Altitude 95, which
is situated on the first floor, and its title originates from height that it
is above sea level. The restaurant is fairly big inside that it seats around
200 people and there is a bar located on the ground floor that serves drinks
and snacks all day.
The other restaurant is the Jules Verne Restaurant, which is situated on the
second floor complete with private lift and fantastic food and views over Paris.
The area around
the Eiffel Tower also has plenty to offer with the Park Du Champs De Mars located
nearby, that has plenty grassy areas and cool spots for picnics in the summer
months, there is also a pond with ducks and some children’s rides. There
is also a nice little open-air café where you can purchase a snack and
some coffee. The park also offers pony rides for the children and several seated
areas where you can peacefully sit and admire the scenery among the rose gardens.
Stalls selling souvenirs are located within the park, mainly near the Eiffel
Tower and the Eiffel Tower also has an official Gift shop where you can purchase
memorabilia and postcards etc, there are several unofficial sellers of memorabilia
located within the park who are often being chased away by the police. Most
of the items they sell can be purchased at the same price in the shops and official
stalls throughout Paris.
The Park and tower are also close enough to the River Seine
where there are several restaurants situated along the riverside and boat tours
where you can enjoy the Eiffel towers lights at night.
