View top athletes and get a taste of Italy

Visitors can experience a sporting day full of athletics without having to move a muscle in Venice this May.

The International Triathlon sees a host of triathletes compete in a 1.5 km swim along the beach, a 40 km return bicycle race to Malamocco and a 10 km run.

Visitors can watch the race in the daytime and then attend one of the many events at night.

As well as a prize ceremony and "pastaparty", live music and belly dancing are also offered to keep everyone entertained.

The small but enjoyable event takes place at Lido on May 15, with the race beginning at 12.45 in the afternoon.
