celebrate important figure at festival
In one of the most
spectacular celebrations Naples has to offer, the town hosts the Festa della
Madonna del Carmine this July.
Running on July
15-16, the event is free of charge, with activities beginning at 10pm on July
15.
The festival is
to celebrate Naples' most cherished figure Madonna del Carmine.
Events begin with
the Incendio del Campanile - "the burning of the church tower", which
is a spectacular illusion created by lots of fireworks in the sky and surrounding
the tower.
Celebrations on
the 16 see a Holy Mass held every hour of the day from 7am until 7pm.
