Help to celebrate French fish at local food festival

A fishing fanfare fills Brittany's pretty port of Binic in May at the La Fete de la Morue.

Held each year the festival celebrates the local fishing industry, with a big focus of the event placed on cod, since it is a major source for the local economy.

From May 21-23 the small port is picture perfect with freshly cleaned fishing vessels and colourful sails.

Fishermen greet visitors with traditional sea shanties and a huge selection of cod is cooked alongside the harbour.

The day is free of charge and lets visitors join in with French locals celebrating the maritime lifestyle of Binic.
